Go into settings and change your ge proton to a different version. You can try a few. I used an older one for ff7 remake and it fixed it

Any way to use the deck as a controller for my PC? Better yet, native controller and monitor support for PC?

You can just plug any USB-C dock in and attach what ever hardware you'd like to it. I've done that with an external screen, keyboard, mouse and a PS4 DS controller as well as Ethernet. It just worked.
